After high school, he pursued a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Eastern Connecticut State University, a path of study that equips students for diverse business careers. His undergraduate degree provided a solid foundation in business operations management, financial analysis, and business accounting. 

Matthew earned an MBA in 2012 from Southern Methodist University – Cox School of Business, a private university in the heart of Dallas. His proclivity for business was demonstrated when, after college, he was hired by a division of First Service Corporation to be the district manager for Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts and grew the region from 10 to 18 locations. After a stint at California Closets as Production Manager, Denegre took on a pivotal role as a Summer Associate with Transition Capital Partners. 

After completing his internship, Matthew solidified his entrance into the world of finance by being hired by Baker Tilly US as a Senior Associate in the Transaction Advisory Services division. In this position, Matthew focused on buy-side due diligence for client mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures. He also provided consulting services for middle-market private equity firms, providing strategic guidance on over 30 M&A transactions ranging from $1 million to $250 million.
